About me
This presentation introduces a classroom ready career exploration module designed for middle school students, focused on opening early awareness of healthcare careers and pathways. The module helps students understand how a healthcare system functions, using St. Luke’s as a real world example, while connecting learning to future opportunities through Idaho LAUNCH and Next Steps Idaho.Built for immediate classroom use, the module includes a slide based lesson, a teacher facilitation guide, and student facing activities that can be used in print or digital formats. The lesson sequence walks students through what a healthcare system is, explores the range of roles within a healthcare careers ecosystem, and highlights how transferable skills show up across different jobs. Students also learn how career exploration evolves over time, from middle school curiosity to high school planning and beyond.Through interactive activities like role and skill matching and real world scenarios, students begin to see themselves in future careers while building confidence in their ability to explore options with intention. This is not about recruitment. It is about expanding awareness, building relevance, and helping students connect today’s learning to tomorrow’s possibilities.
