About me
As the ISAT assessment coordinator at the Idaho Department of Education, my role is to support implementation and interpretation of the statewide summative assessment for all grades and content areas (ELA, Math, and Science). I come from a background of working in schools, primarily at the elementary level. Having been both a classroom teacher and administrator, I gained various perspectives around instruction and data. The schools I worked at heavily emphasized data, allowing me to develop a strong understanding of the process and power of data-informed decision to support student outcomes. This interest in data and assessment led me to the role of the ISAT coordinator, where I aim to support a strong understanding of how the summative assessment is one part of a bigger system.
